CDC/NIOSH Structural Condition Assessment - Innovative Engineering Incorporated

Cincinnati, OH

General Condition

Performed a condition assessment of existing storage and maintenance facilities. The single story storage building was constructed in 1992 and accounts for approximately 1990 square feet. The maintenance building accounts for approximately 18,000 square feet. Both buildings were found to be in fair to good structural condition and no immediate structural concerns noted.

Condition Assessment

Plan drawings were generated to depict locations of deficiencies:

Rusting of roof structural steel was found to be rusting which could lead to potential section loss of the steel which could reduce it's load carrying capacity.
Failing wall construction joint material was found in the storage building which could continue to deteriorate and lead to complete loss of the material.
Cracking was found on exterior load bearing CMU walls which could be seen through to outside. These cracks would need repairs to maintain the load bearing and weather tight integrity of the walls.
Damaged tectum roof panels due to water infiltration. This is necessary to address to maintain the load carrying and weather tight integrity of the roof.
An impact scar on an exterior non-load bearing wall which could allow water infiltration.
Cracked interior and exterior floor slabs likely caused by freeze thaw cycles over time in addition to vehicle and equipment exposure.
